we export shapes from streamline, then import into adobe illustrator to add a tile underneath the background, then export again. it would be nice if we could skip this step and define a shape which the icon sits on top of (vertically and horizontally centered).

we do squircles, but yes, that's the idea.  
we'd like the ability to add a square ( with custom corner radius ) or a circle behind the icon and download the stacked layers as one shape (svg).
